Famous Easy Rider Town Hollister California Now Boasts a Rebel Cannabis Company
By Andrew Shaw, Publisher of Cannabis Daily
The riot at the original 1947 motorcycle rally in Hollister California was the basis for the 1953 film The Wild One which forever marked the town as the birthplace of American Motorcycle culture.
The town and its namesake are rumbling toward making history again, this time as a cannabis-friendly place.
Hollister Cannabis Co. a wholly owned subsidiary of Hollister Biosciences is licensed in the city of Hollister and just got freshly listed on the CSE with an easy-to-remember stock symbol (CSE:HOLL).
Unlike the clothing brand bearing the town’s famous name, Hollister Biosciences is actually located in Hollister, approved by government and is a proud part of the local community.
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Carl Saling, CEO & Co-Founder of Hollister Biosciences on the heels of their latest announcement by a division of Hollister called The Rebel Hemp Company, which just launched a hemp brewed beverage called “Rebel Tea”.
The Hollister Biosciences Brand Family
As an avid motorcyclist, I was intrigued by their family of brands and the moto-cultural connection to Easy Rider town. And being a biker, the development of non-intoxicating therapeutic products is of keen interest to me.
When riding a bike you need to be pin-straight for safety, and cannabis derived CBD is especially good for pain reduction and has anti-inflammatory benefits… so naturally I am interested in tea’s and edibles that are not psychoactive.
For example, Rebel Tea is a distinctly different approach to a standard tea beverage. It’s organically brewed with high-quality, American-grown hemp and contains fifteen milligrams of whole-plant full-spectrum phytocannabinoids in each serving.
“This is not some standard tea product with CBD, THC or tincture additives…” said Carl, “It’s a whole new approach – where we actually brew from the hemp plant first.”
And the rebellion doesn’t stop there… selling exclusively in California (for now) their products are already in 160+ stores and the company is on track for $1M+ in sales this year.
What’s the rebel part? If you’re printing black ink right-out-of-the-gate, that means you’re ‘as-rare-as-they-come’ in terms of weed stocks, so therefore update your watch list because this could be a Wild One.
Speaking with the CEO for guidance year two suggests very positive multiples on the strength of what’s occurring already.
I am very excited to see their first quarterly report which drops sometime around the end of March 2020.
In terms of brand architecture; The company has intelligently diversified its holdings as a series of subsidiaries, namely Hollister Cannabis Co., Hash Bone, Mighty Meds, Nano Pure and Rebel Hemp Company. Each one focusing on niche products such as bubble hash pre-rolls, proprietary water-soluble products, enhanced cannabinoid activation and hemp-based CBD products.
They even have embarked on the pet market, launching a product called Purity Petibles – a Pet Tincture.
I asked the CEO about this line extension and how he arrived at the formulation.
“It started with my German Sheppard Lab cross, named Dave. He was a twelve year old dog with regular ageing problems, and I used to make the Petibles recipe for him.”
Dave? I asked – “Yes, my kids named him.” Chuckled Carl.
“The dog was a big part of the family and the pain relief benefits of the Purity Petibles recipe helped keep him around for much longer than what was expected, with a good quality of life.”
All that said – with the gang of brands Hollister is rolling out… once you get past all the chrome; you’ll fast discover they’re pulling along a very tidy side-car business of white-labeling cannabis products.
The white-label business is especially compelling.
It provides product entrepreneurs with cannabis manufacturing services, and its got unlimited horsepower. This engine will power the creation of future brands with a turn-key cannabis product machine to get social influencers burning up the road in no-time.
California is well known for trendsetting, and I believe this Hollister operation has a ton of merit as they’re well positioned to succeed from concept, manufacturing, marketing & distribution in California, with natural expansion as market rules permit.
Enter the trend-setter. Working with Hollister, any group can expertly craft new brands on behalf of large cultural followings; to roll-out endless products – and these opportunities in California are as deep and wide as the Pacific Ocean.
The white labeling business is a powerful play because its relatively simple. A) Take a famous name or brand, B) stick in on a top-quality product with a bad-ass logo, and C) go-to market.
It’s turnkey revenue.. Just twist the throttle and go!
I am bullish on the company because Hollister has positioned itself as an ideal white label manufacturing partner for folks looking to develop their own packaged goods in an array of ready-to-market affinity products in the canna-space. This, in addition to their own seven-figure sales results expected over this next twelve months for their own brand family.
They are currently involved with the manufacturing of Pre Rolls, Infused Pre Rolls, Vape Formulation, Vape Cart Filling, Tinctures, Capsules & Beverages.
With a name like Hollister, and in the attitude of Easy Rider; I am excited for the future of Hollister Biosciences Inc. (CSE:HOLL) with Carl at the helm.
But wait – There’s more!
Did you hear me say Easy Rider, over-and-over again in this piece?
Hollister Biosciences Inc. and ER71 USA Inc. “Easyriders” Enter into Letter of Intent for Proposed Joint Venture Agreement
PRESS RELEASE EXCERPT – “Hollister is proud to announce its partnership with Easyriders as the brand’s official marketing partner. From the birthplace of the American Biker, Hollister is the first licensed and operational cannabis and hemp company in Hollister, California with a mission to embrace the outlaw roots of Hollister, while providing premium-quality hemp products.”
Under the terms of the Agreement, Easyriders will contribute artwork, logos and package design for a series of pre-rolled products using hemp.
Ahem… As the popular Idiom goes, “Case in point.”
It’s early days yet – but like Wyatt said to Billy in the Easy Rider movie after smoking a joint, and discussing the mysteries of the universe … “Yeah, well, I’m just getting my thing together.”
In my opinion – CARL SALING is the man with a plan, and this thing is most certainly together.
