BNN Bloomberg reported this morning that the Coca-Cola Company (NYSE:KO) is in “serious talks” with Aurora Cannabis, a Canadian LP regarding the development cannabis-infused drinks, according to sources close to the discussions. Numerous news outlets in and out of the cannabis space have been working to confirm the story, which according to some sources, Coca-Cola denies.
“We have no interest in marijuana or cannabis,” was reported by Brandon A. Dorfman of the PotNetwork. “Along with many others in the beverage industry, we are closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages around the world. The space is evolving quickly. No decisions have been made at this time.”
Aurora Cannabis (T:ACB) closed at $9.98 a share, up 16.8% in heavy trading, and trading in the cannabis sector was generally active and positive. Coca-Cola shares were up slightly was well, closing at $46.30 US, up $0.30.
